Follicles...Grow Those Eggs!!

Was having a little fun today doodling, and created my own little uterus mascot that is fierce and determined. Just looking at her makes me very motivated! This current process is all about growing the eggs (follicles) and as many as I can hold till they can retrieve them. I had bloodwork and ultrasound this morning. Things are growing, but I think I only have 1 egg that is 12 mm. I really hope that there are more on Sunday for another round of bloodwork and ultrasound. I'm really trying not to worry that I might only get a few eggs growing. Just gotta trust the process and my fertility team.

The above is a little schematic of the cascade of things that have to happen to grow the follicles. So, the Menopur and Gonal-f that I'm taking nightly are both Gonadotropic hormones to stimulate the follicles to grow. So, I'm trying to grow more follicles than what you'd usually grow in a cycle so that they can retrieve them! I did get an update from my MD today, that I will be taking Ganirelix Sunday moring before my bloodwork and ultrasound. Ganirelix is an Antagonist that will prevent me from ovulating so that I can make it to retrieval day.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I get lots of eggs growing to the right size!!
