Alright, so to help with my own visualization and for anyone interested I have drawn some illustrations to describe each day past the embryo transfer. This post is based on a 5 day embryo transfer. This is just a quick overview, hoping to have some more time to discuss more details of each phase later, it's been a busy week!
Transfer Day

1dp5dt: Blastocyst Begins to hatch out of its shell

2dp5dt: Blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterine lining

3dp5dt: Blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining (endometrial epithelium), beginning implantation!

4dp5dt: Implantation continues

5dp5dt: Implantation is complete, cells that will eventually become the placenta and fetal cells begin to develop.

6dp5dt: Placenta cells secrete human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) and starts to enter the blood stream.

7dp5dt: Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted.

8dp5dt: Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted.

9dp5dt: Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy on HPT.GO TEST!! (if you haven't already...)

Good luck to those going through an embryo transfer!!
Love,
Natasha
